    Kelly's Bale shoppe is very local. Don't let their big image destroy their amazing food and coffee they serve. It's not just a bakery it is a total experience. If you want to sit and eat you will like the atmosphere, courteous service and really good stuffs.

    RESTAURANT: KELLY'S BAKE SHOPPE

    WHAT I ORDERED: "coffee break" cupcake and dragonfruit lemonade

    Atmosphere: extremely friendly, clean, homey, community-centred cafe-style seating. The storefront is small, but open concept.

    Taste: calling all coffee-lovers, this cupcake tastes exactly like your morning cup of coffee, with an added donut on the top. The gluten-free and vegan aspect of this cupcake goes completely unnoticed. The lemonade is made in-house and with minimal sugar. It's sour to the point of bitter due to the lemons, but if you're trying to get away from sugary drinks it's not a bad choice.

    Service: extremely friendly and helpful, but not to the point of pushy. Bang for buck: about $4 for the cupcake and a few dollars for the lemonade. Considering that everything sold here is vegan and gluten free, the cost is fairly reasonable, especially for the exceptional taste. Extra perks: if you have an allergy to gluten or anything from an animal, you're safe at Kelly's. Everything they make is vegan and gluten-free, so your food won't even come into contact with any allergens.  OVERALL ROAST SCORE: 4.6/5

    We dropped in for ice cream, as recommended by Yelp.  

    This is a serious cupcake operation!

    The ice cream business seems to be an afterthought though.  

    Little attention has been made to what could possibly be a great second line of business.  

    Could they top off soft serve with pieces of the cupcakes they make in house ? Sure !

    But, offering toppings like jelly beans, sprinkles and gummy bears cheapens the entire operation & experience.   Please review your ice cream operation!  You are better than this !

    Service is friendly and they do handle a lot of customers during the day.

    In response to Kelly's Bake Shoppe response:
    Kelly your boxed milks say it is made on shared equipment with treenuts. When I questioned the staff about this they also informed me that Bob's Red Mill is not safe for a few of the nut allergies, the same you listed below. You are going to have to educate your staff, and update us all, including the coconut milk that was at your coffee station that reads in plain english 'made at a facility that also processes treenuts'.  All Bob's Red Mill gluten free flour states the facility warning. My son requires 2 epipens/rounds of benadryl/rounds of prednisone on a trace amount of 3 types of nuts. For some the nut warnings need to be heeded. I remember a girl that went into a coma some years ago when she thought she was consuming something gluten free.  It is important for some people to be clear of no nuts in the recipe and restaurant and possible contamination in the ingredients from manufacturer.

    A dessert place that has vegan and gluten free items which taste amazing? It exists and it's better than I could have imagined. I want so delighted when my friend took me to Kelly's bake shoppe. Usually vegan deserts can be hit or miss but this place delivers the goods! The chocolate chip cookies are amazing and every cupcake flavor I tried was delicious. If you're in the area I highly recommend it.
